Ta-Dah! The Lounge Blanket

Let’s start the weekend with a great big ta-dah! Earlier this week I finished my gorgeous granny square blanket!

I first dreamt up the idea of having a blanket for myself around Christmas, and when we went away for a few days I took yarn with me to start making the squares. It was then put aside to make customer orders and presents. It was a joy to pick it up between other projects, and finishing it was a delight! This is easily my favourite make ever!

I used 32 Stylecraft Special DK shades:

I used my go-to granny square tutorial, this one by The Patchwork Heart, as I love how straight they make the squares. I used the join-as-you method to join the squares. There is a great tutorial for the method here.

The edging is very simple. In each space there is a DC (SC), and three chains between. On the 3ch, I made a V-Stitch. In the corners I made a shell, consisting of 10TR (10DC).

I am so pleased with this blanket, and it looks gorgeous in my lounge!
