Ta-da! The Rainbow Granny Square Blanket

I love making gifts, and this is a gorgeous baby blanket for my friend. She is having a boy, but she is someone I would describe as “sunny”, so wanted to make a bright and colourful blanket.

I think this definitely fits the bill!

This is a simple granny square blanket, but I used The Patchwork Heart’s tutorial on turning your work each round to keep the centre of the blanket square, not wonky!

This blanket is made using a 6mm hook, and Stylecraft Special Aran in:

  • White
  • Lipstick
  • Pistachio
  • Aster

The yellow is Red Heart Super Saver in Bright Yellow.

The edging is a simple v-stitch edge, which nicely finishes off the blanket.

I am so pleased with how this has turned out. It took a few evenings to work up and it is soft and warm. It is a 26in square blanket, perfect for a sweet baby.

So what do you think? I am hoping my friend likes it!
