Here is a round up of most of things I have made this year. It has felt like a busy year, but actually it doesn’t look like much! Some things have taken a while to complete though…
I have made a variety of things, mostly using my sewing machine. I made a taggy blanket and a taggy toy. I attempted to quilt the blanket – fortunately it is backed so my messy sewing can’t be seen! I also made a couple of nappy pouches – only one is shown there. Here are my two favourite sewing makes:
They are a name banner for Thomas, which is now on the wall above his bed; and a felt cot mobile for Chloe Bean, which I hand sewed.
You can read about my Christmas sewing here.
I only did two cross stitches this year:
Both of them were gifts for family members. My younger brother got married back in February, so I made this:
This is possibly my favourite make of 2015. It took ages but I am so proud of it. The other cross stitch was a birth sampler for my nephew Rupert.
I haven’t done much knitting this year, even though I am working on a cardigan for Chloe Bean and a jumper for Thomas. I made these two cardigans for Chloe. The top one is a chunky wrap around cardigan which I don’t think I am too pleased with. The bottom one I really liked, but she has already grown out of it! We have been given lots of knitting by my mum and mother-in-law, so I will do a post showing off their skills soon.
Crochet is probably what I spend most of my time doing. I find it easy to do when the children are up. I have found I can crochet whilst giving cuddles to sleepy babies, which is ace!
So we have, from left to right, top to bottom:
- a granny star blanket for Chloe
- a granny square blanket for Rupert (I wish I had a better photo of it!)
- a Christmas gift tag – H for Hazel, my mother-on-law
- crochet snowflakes
- a v-stitch blanket, which was a gift for our close friends when they had their second child
- a sparkly headband for Chloe
- a granny square blanket for Chloe which I made with my Mum
- a newborn hat
- another headband for Chloe
I think my two favourites are the v-stitch blanket and the granny square blanket:
So, that was 2015. Will I get anything else made before the end of the year? I’, looking forward to 2016 and seeing what I can make. I already have a few things lined up…
