WIP Wednesday – 24th August

Hello! How are you on this very hot day? ☀️☀️ I hope you are enjoying the sunshine!

I feel like I’ve had a busy week, but I’m not sure what I have done!

I am still working on this mermaid tail:

It is currently 27in long, so I am nearly there! I think it needs 20 more rows. It’s hard work at the moment though; it’s too hot to sit under a blanket!

I have made a couple more granny squares:

I love how the variegated yarn makes each square look different.

Yesterday I tried out something different – greeting cards:

I wanted to make a little card to say ‘thank you’ to one of the workers at Thomas’ nursery. I am really pleased with how it turned out.

So, I did something unusual this week. I got out my knitting needles! Any guesses what this will become:

I will write up a blog post about the bed runner soon, but I really wanted to show you this picture, of it in its new home:

Like I said, it has been a busy week for us. Firstly, Chloe Bean has learned to pull herself up to standing! She is growing so fast!

We enjoyed a great morning at Messy Play. It was the first time taking Chloe, and she loved it. And covered herself in paint!

Chris and I had a child-free night, thanks to his parents having the children for a sleepover. We met some friends on the beach in the evening, it was so lovely! And I managed to sleep in the next morning, what a win!

I have finished a couple of books too this week. The first was I Let You Go by Clare Mackintosh, which I loved! Top marks from me. The other was Paris For One by Jojo Moyes. This is a short story, and I didn’t really like it. I am now reading The Perfect Match by Katie Fforde, a book which has been sitting on my Kindle for too long…!

Lastly from me, here are a couple of pictures from my Bible Journalling this week. I am reading through the book called Blessing Your Spirit by Sylvia Gunter and journalling the verses. I am finding this a really refreshing and releasing way to engage with the Word of God – basically, I am loving it!
